Archive for reboot

With the dust settled on CSS reboot, I have decided to do the usual round up post of what I thought of the entries. I have now gotten through all the sites, no mean feat that was with a lot of entries this time. I did notice a large percentage of no reboots again, which sort of was a shame but there we go. It was less of a mixed bag than November in my opinion. There seemed to be several strong themes running through out most of the entries. On a personal note, I am happy with how things have gone since reboot, although I am still in that pre-reboot brain dribble phase. I would like to thank anyone that had a word to say about any of my reboot designs, as usual both good and bad feedback is appreciated. I am already looking forward to the next one, I may have just got well and truly hooked on rebooting now. Firstly, I am going to round up the ones that I really liked be they for design, navigation or just general content. As with any reboot, there were so many I feel deserve a mention, but I have narrowed it down to the ones that had the most impact and interest to me.

On a more personal note, this reboot is a whole lot more special for me as it marks the first day of my return to freelance. It has been a rather hard job over the past few months being in a limbo and having the inevitable (unfortunately it seemed inevitable) traumas and debates over my leaving. Whatever has gone on, it has happened now and I have to say that now the reboot insanity is over, I am glad of the decision I made. I am going to take this week to realise and focus on what is now the preverbial buck stopping firmly at my trackpad.

Along with this site, I have rebooted 2 other websites :

  • QUOTETHEM : Quote anyone online using this easy user driven website

Just before I fall asleep at the keyboard, I would like to quickly announce the launch of the new Diary of a website flavour for the reboot. A fair bit has changed and a fair bit is going to probably be tweaked over the next few days. I will also do a more indepth post regarding the new design and functions.

IMPORTANT : Bug found and killed.
Great apologies if you tried to comment as apparently my form was deciding that anyone wanting to comment in general on this site could not. Nothing like your own script deciding to work in some cases and not in others. The bug turned out to be table related and is now sorted using a big stick. I will now go and mutter in a corner for a bit after this post.

As probably is known in all the web and probably even your dog knows about it, CSS reboot has launched. Along with it a feast for CSS fans. I thought I would post a few of the highlights from my perspective. So here they are and this autumn I am most definetly impressed and humbled (and thinking of a re-design already lol) :
