Today I turn 32 and another year seems to have whizzed past. I always got told the older you got the quicker the years seem to pass and this year has really flown by. I’ve done so much business wise and been through a fair chunk personal wise. I really feel I’ve turned a corner a bit in many areas of my life.

I was filling another Dillon made hole in another wall today and again was struck with how satisfying it is to me. I’ve always found using filler or other plaster type ‘hole fixing’ products amazing therapeutic. There is something about skimming over and making the surface smooth again that really gives me a sense of achievement. I really think the inner me must be a plasterer or something, it’s probably only me being odd that gets such satisfaction from filling holes. The downside of course happened soon after filling the hole, the fact now I have a pot of hole filler and I am seeing holes around the house - it could be a fun week.

There are a few downsides to living in the countryside apart from not having any more than 1mb broadband. One of the biggest issues that comes with winter is power cuts. Couple this with net cuts which seem to increase in number during the colder months and you have one odd way to run a web business.

We are thinking about stopping having a TV in our house. Well it’s actually been decided we are going to get rid of the TV, playstation, xbox, video and portable TV. Why? Basically, the time sucked up by watching TV we want back. The game machines aren’t a sucker up so much reason to get rid of though. With those I rarely play them as the games I play are on the mac, since working in the gaming industry it’s just not been the same for me with games - sad but true. I do like a good rpg romp though or puzzle so the mac games suit me for that. Simon wants to get rid of them as he’s also moving over to non-console games. In short we just don’t use them enough to justify the space and when we do it’s wasting hours we could be doing more things.

I’ve been tagged thanks to Lisa, so here goes.

Good company and acoustic music signals the end of the summer for me. Sat outside at a gathering today the chill of autumn came too quickly over the group under the full moon. I sit here on my bed my puppy asleep on my warming my bones and reflect on another summer passed too fast. Summer’s are like the may fly seasons gone in the blink of a poppy field’s blooming. Sandal feet for the first time in months turn to ice and thoughts of wool socks. The nights are drawing in and encampments are being made with duvets to see through the cold coming fast.
