Part of what keeps me interested in design is the attention to small details that gives things a lift. I really like the little features you can add that take things to another level. One of the historically yawnsomest areas of website design has been forms. Whilst with css and other things there are always ways to cheer up forms, it’s still often a last minute thought. Not in the case of Frooition and their register interest form.
While finding some webspiration I found this great site Smiley Cat that has a blog form showcase. Looking at the various forms away from their blog design is really interesting considering my mild form obsession. It’s a great way of detatching the design from the smaller and in the case of forms, often passed over.
Every web designer is guilty of form sins. Forms seem to always be an after thought with regards to design on most websites. Recently, I have been pleased to see some great examples of forms that have been designed rather than whacked on. It is getting the case that the ugly forms are less and less visible, but while they are still there the cause for attractive forms has not been won. Even, if you have styled your form sometimes there is by a simple review a nice twist you can add to their design.
