9rules ++
If you haven’t seen, 9rules has had a big release update today which is being called 9rules Ali. Along with getting a facelift the core functions of 9rules have been added to and the focus taken onto readers and members. The first post on the 9rules blog announcing sums it up nicely:
Tis the season to bash 9rules over the head again
I had thought that with this round of submissions and acceptances into 9rules, history may not repeat itself with the poor 9rules not getting bashed over the head again…… Well, you know what thought did – in this case turn out to be wrong. Whilst it’s possibly not as big a stick being used to beat 9rules as the past has seen, there is still a fair bit of prodding. The one note that I have seen on 9rules notes sums up the various things I’ve seen regarding apparently the formula that is applied to any blog accepted into 9rules of: 9rules + blog acceptance = quality downgrade.
9rules round V
Yes, it’s that time again. 9rules is opening up it’s doors to new members for round V on October 25th. I can’t shout enough about the greatness I’ve got from being a member both from the people I’ve met through it and the experience itself. It really has made me step up to the plate more and that can only be a good thing. I would encourage anyone to give it a go and even to try again (it took 2 attempts to get in for this blog and the first rejection only served to make me more determined). While much blog polishing goes on take time to enter the guess the number of entries game on 9rules and see if you win the mystery prize.
Blog Club : Automobiles
My car history is somewhat patchy. I have always pretty much had a car apart from the time I lived in Brighton where it wasn’t really needed. I fully admit to taking 3 times before I passed my test and when I was younger I did crash more times than a crash test dummy. For a while now, I have managed to avoid crashing and have a much more ‘adult’ manner and respect for cars. Here is a brief synopsis of my car history:
Blog Club : Art
As the serial degree person that I was, one of these was in-fact art. My most vivid memory of this is the first lecture when the head of the department produced a tin of baked beans and whacked it down on his hand proclaiming this was art. The usual term of debate about what was art ensued. There was of course, no definitive conclusion to what was art and the sole decision I came to personally was that to define art is not really the point. Everyone has a different perception of what art is and what art means to them.
Blog Club : Apple
This fortnight’s Blog Club is focusing on Apple. The Apple Community at 9rules is a good resource for all things mac. I have always had a mac in the house for a while now. I remember first seeing the beige rectangle good old macintosh with the rainbow apple and being interested in the features which always seemed so more advanced than the windows ones of that time. The range of macs that have inhabited the living space in our house included one g4 un-lovingly called the paperweight as it was a refurbishment that was broken more times than a greenhouse during a stone throwing competition. Despite this burp in our mac journey we have now almost 100% moved over for both mine and my husband’s machines. The windows box has been confined to a dusty corner of the office and only occasionally gets turned on to shout at.
