Over at Quofda (Question of the Day) each day a question is asked (clue being in the domain name there). Today’s is ‘Why do Mondays suck?’. I thought I’d take a little bit of an alternative route to answer this one as it brought to mind a few comments I’ve had in the past with regards to the fact I work freelance.
Considering a lot of the work I do is taking my design and crafting it into code, I thought I would write a mini tutorial on how I go through this process. I’m sure my process is fairly similar to mosts after all there are only a limited number of things you can do differently to get the result, but I thought it may be a good way to bring insight into both my working process and be also of interest to someone who may not have done it before.
I’ve noticed that a lot of sites seem to not use the visited property of links. I know myself there have been times that this element has been overlooked, however it’s a really important one that we should all have in our sites.
Before I go into the full details of this a little bit of a disclaimer. I had the problems I’m writing about back in December but didn’t write about them as it was going through compensation and a long chore of sorting out. I’m in part writing this as a warning and in part writing this as a still not overly happy with the entire situation that Apple created.
To say it was a crazy year last year really would be underestimating for me. Whilst the web seemed somewhat quieter than in past years, my own personal trip through the months was a crazy wacky ride of ups and downs. The ups included my first trip to America, working at Thoof, being asked to contribute to Colour Lovers, Simon joining me in Logical Binary and many other great client projects I was lucky enough to work on this past year including finally refreshing the Logical CMS. The downs were mainly health related but the way I see the new year is as a clean slate so it’s all fading with the turn up of 2008 on my calendar.
