My thoughts:

Design is a careful balance of nature and nurture. You can’t be born knowing it all, but you can’t be a talentless hack who reads a lot of books.
Design IS an addiction.
Not every designer is creatively driven. Many are driven by the desire to meet needs where they just happen to know how to.
It is absolutely an evil thing to love your job.
Content is king, but we often believe it can somehow take care of itself.
