Why is filling holes satisfying?

I was filling another Dillon made hole in another wall today and again was struck with how satisfying it is to me. I’ve always found using filler or other plaster type ‘hole fixing’ products amazing therapeutic. There is something about skimming over and making the surface smooth again that really gives me a sense of achievement. I really think the inner me must be a plasterer or something, it’s probably only me being odd that gets such satisfaction from filling holes. The downside of course happened soon after filling the hole, the fact now I have a pot of hole filler and I am seeing holes around the house – it could be a fun week.
