Call to emoticon

I’ve decided we need some universally accepted emoticon for sarcasm, maybe even some big internet alarm for it too. How about the net spots it and types it all in say bright flashing ‘this is sarcasm’ red? Ok, maybe I am getting a bit carried away but it’s getting to the point you can’t be a piss taking so and so anymore without someone picking you up on it. It’s not just me, the rash of wrongly accused sarcasm lovers is net wide. You may shout “it’s the lowest form of wit” but I can’t hear you because I’m singing in my head (insert emoticon here).

It’s not much to ask. There are many emoticons that can be labeled as meaning sarcasm from tongue out to anime face and even the odd wink in-between. One definitive ‘this is sarcasm and read as such’ fails to emerge as the winner though and the range of could be / couldn’t be emoticons just gets confusing. Possibly even more confusing than the issue of if it’s sarcasm or not. I call to you for the sake of all the net children let’s unite and create one sarcasm emoticon for all. If not for the children do it for the blog posts and forum apologies that have to be written due to the mistaking of sarcasm. That and the bunnies, got to save those bunnies.

Whatever it would be, I would just have to slap it across the top of my blog. As it is now, I’m killing bunnies every day.

There is, it usually goes as (!) in my circles.

    Isn’t it thrilling?(!)
