Why this reboot is special for me

On a more personal note, this reboot is a whole lot more special for me as it marks the first day of my return to freelance. It has been a rather hard job over the past few months being in a limbo and having the inevitable (unfortunately it seemed inevitable) traumas and debates over my leaving. Whatever has gone on, it has happened now and I have to say that now the reboot insanity is over, I am glad of the decision I made. I am going to take this week to realise and focus on what is now the preverbial buck stopping firmly at my trackpad.

There was no real plan in going freelance for me. I fully admit that this was one of my aims, but I was less optimistic and whacked a 2 to 5 year plan on it. Over the time and turning down of client (something that is possibly the most painful things a webby has to do), it became apparent I was wrapping my career in cotton wool and not letting it out of the house incase of it bruising a knee. In short, it was soon apparent that I had to make the decision to keep turning down clients and end up with nobody wanting me or bite the bullet and bungee without a rope into freelance.

I would just like to take this time to say thanks to everyone who supported me when I took this decision. Along with this my husband needs a big thanks as he really has been living the role of a web widow for the past few weeks during my plate juggling websites. Part of going freelance for me is not just about doing it for myself, it is about kicking back into line my work and life balance. Admitadely launching in the reboot possibly didn’t start that aim off on the right track!
