Obsessive compulsive tagging

I appear to have developed another neuroisis just in time for the new year. This time it is obsessive making sure that the tags on tracks are correct. Yep, it has annoyed me for a while my rather random previous efforts in the direction of music sorting. I opted for the oh so brilliant mood choice of categories that over the years has debauched into random mayhem. Put it this way with a 250gb hard drive it is a damn good job I have a good memory. My memory feat fails sometimes and as a result I am now upon going through my collection uncovering some gems I had forgotten about in the mess of tags with no meaning.

All of this spring tagging has been brought on by Coverflow not working. I deduced it was probably due to the obsurd lack of tags and jumbled mp3 filenames. As I removed the offending tracks one by one (I only link inot itunes so kept them safe in the mish mash) I discovered that rather than randomly crashing the progress was successful and I ended up with nothing much there. Coverflow is wonderful and the more I use it the more I am becoming album obsessed. To componsate for a lot of removed tracks I started embarking on a selected album import. This has also resulted in some gems being uncovered from the stacks of cds we never use anymore since we converted to itunes. All in all cheering me up in a sea of work, which is great. I am now the tagging police which probably is not so great but there we go.
