As of last night the insurance company has signed my sony vaio’s death warrent. Yep the vaio has left the building and I am now wearing black and getting goth flash backs. The result of the now insurance company offical "freak incident" was among many other things, a shattered mother board and a squashed processor – being flat not sure how squashing would hurt them anymore but still sounds painful.
Now, I am left with after some really poo machines being offered to me as replacements, to find my own machine. This is both a good and bad thing as with my decision to go the mac route this time, I am torn between the macbook pro and the powerbook. The arguments on both side seem convincing – altho the favour-o-meter did have a mad swiging time through various powerbook screen problems being read this morning. I guess I now have to decide if I am brave enough to get the macbook pro or even able to wait that long as now I have to share a machine with my husband or use the old work horse pc.
The state of play seems to be to go powerbook route with a extra dollop of applecare just incase along with a severe finger crossing and possible year later excuses to get a macbook pro anyways once I don’t have to be brave anymore. So, if you had the choice what would you do given the fact the macbook pro doesn’t even say about battery life yet along with a vague "feb" release date?
