Decision made

It is now confirmed I am the cowardly lion out of the wizard of oz. Yep I am yellow and a member of the simpsons. After some long winded confusion with the Insurance company I am soon to be the proud (I really hope I will be proud) owner of a new powerbook 15 inch. The decision was a rather more hard one that it should have been. In the end I aired on the side of seen it, touched it, liked it, know it. Not a bad final decision.

Just like to add a little note regarding insurance company insanity. Might be just me but the way I am having to do this seems rather confusion creating (there has been so much confusion lately). The whole event was not helped by Apple either (I will get to that in a minute). I understand possibily due to chavs claiming money for stuff they smash over their heads and then buying shell suits made of pure gold…. or something like that; the insurance company will not make payments to an individual. They will make a part payment – this is the case as me being greedy and looking to upgrade mrs powerbook to the hilt (whether I will regret this decision and wish for a off shelf remains to be seen).

So, I contacted Apple with my order including my long drooled after ipod nano in with a nice slipping in of a nice shoulder bag (a girl has to have handbags). Upon placing order I found that Apple will not accept seperate payments. The sales person stated that they wish they did but can’t accept them. Soon after putting down the phone the word bugger was announced. I was also rather stunned that Apple just refused my order – they obviously are making way too much bloody money.

The final upshot is I am going to have to front up the full amount and then get paid back onto my credit card company with a cheque from my insurance company. Do the words long way around mean anything to these people? I know lets “do this the hard way”….. after all I am not getting annoyed OR ANYTHING argh!

Perhaps to add insult to injury the suppliers to the insurance company came back with a quote for the spec powerbook I want and it runs at nearly 200 over the order for apple. Their apparent reason for this and the two week delivery time was due to having to ship it from Apple to get unit and then back to Apple to get sorted, after this another trip and a few air miles would be given to my powerbook as it winged back to the suppliers then got it’s little skates on to get over to me. Is it just me or is life so much more complicated than it need be? Well, decision made and once I breathe life back into my credit card I will be fronting the funds and the insurance company will be covering it. Suprisingly enough going through Apple for it.
