Zen like

Today I noticed in Waterstones “the Zen of CSS design” – the book of the website CSS Zen Garden. I have been meaning to get this book for a while now and as usual it is on my rather long list. Today though I took the plunge and actually brought it. So far, I am really impressed and it is a good coffee table book along with a nice resource.

By using examples taken from the eye candy bank that has built up on the website, this book uses these as illustration for many aspects of CSS. A good introduction along with a nice resource mixed in with a dash of inspiring visualisation. Not bad really. I am going to dip in and out of it over the next few days and see what there is. On first look it is one of those dip in books. I also think I will be going the route of the note jotting as there are some gems of CSS there too.

I am particularly interested in the typography slant as currently I am looking into this a great deal. My interest is growing in what is possible and how you can enhance and utilise through CSS type. I look forward to finding some interesting things out and experimenting with them on some real examples.
