There are loads of web applications of the year going about on blogs and sites. It’s the usual end of year posting summary season. I thought I would add my own penny worth into the ring with a little review of what has impacted on me this year.
My first point is the label AGAIN that people are whacking on them again and again with Web 2.0. I stand by the fact that I still side on the strip the Web 2.0 and let’s just all get along. I have included a browser and other web using but non web based applications just because I can. This aside the list for me is as follows :
1. del.icio.us : social bookmarking and now an integral part of my life, blog and world.
2. flock : probably a slightly argumental one, but I still like it so there.
3. digg : digg anything and post it, a great way of viewing a snap of what is going on in the web.
4. riffs : a social recommendet for basically anything.
5. rojo : online rss reader and quickly starting to replace feeddemon and newsfire for me.
6. flickr : finally I am getting a new digital camera and can become not just an observer.
7. gmail : easy to use and great limit on this email account I use daily now.
Basically, what I have done is really gone for the ones that have either changed the way I work online or the things that I do.
In good old blog tradition I am going to post over the next few days my websites, inspiration, blogs, online utlilities and other random things of the year. It is a nice snapshot of my life online this year.
